Who we are

Stir is operated by Studio Daedalus, based in the United Kingdom. For any questions about this policy, email josh@studiodaedalus.com.

What data Stir handles

Data stored on your device

The following data is stored locally on your iPhone and never transmitted to us:

• The ingredients you've added to your bar
• The cocktails you've rated, liked, saved, or disliked
• Your taste profile and flavour preferences
• Your selected cocktail categories
• Any custom recipes you've created (Premium feature)
• Your display name and any personalisation settings

If you use iCloud backup on your device, this data may be backed up to your iCloud account under Apple's privacy terms. Stir does not control or access these backups.

Subscription information

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. Stir does not see your payment details, card information, or billing address. We receive only a confirmation that your subscription is active. Apple's privacy policy applies to subscription transactions: apple.com/legal/privacy.

Crash reports

When Stir crashes, anonymous crash reports are sent via Apple's built-in crash reporting. These reports include the device model, iOS version, app version, and the technical details of the crash. They do not include your cocktail data or personal information.

Support emails

If you email us for support, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to your request and don't add you to any marketing list. Support emails are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your data to anyone, ever
• We do not display advertising
• We do not use tracking pixels or third-party advertising networks
• We do not share your personal data with marketing companies
• We do not build profiles of you for commercial purposes beyond your in-app taste profile
• We do not access your contacts, photos, location, or any other system data unless you explicitly grant permission

Third-party services

Stir uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:

• Apple StoreKit — subscription processing. Apple Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat — subscription management infrastructure. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Apple Foundation Models — on-device AI processing for taste profile summaries. Foundation Models run locally on your device; no data is sent to Apple's servers as part of this processing.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law (UK GDPR and EU GDPR), you have the following rights:

• Access: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. Since Stir stores most data locally on your device, this is typically just your support email correspondence.
• Deletion: You can delete all in-app data by uninstalling the Stir app. For support correspondence, email us and we'll delete it within 30 days.
• Correction: If any data we hold about you is incorrect, email us and we'll correct it.
• Portability: You can request your data in a portable format. Email us to request this.
• Complaints: If you believe we've mishandled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children's privacy

Stir is rated 17+ on the App Store because it contains content about alcoholic beverages. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 17. If we discover that we've received data from someone under 17, we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice and the new effective date will appear at the top of this page. The current version is always available at this URL.
